Getting to Devon
Getting to Devon couldn't be easier be it by car, train, coach or plane.
By Car
Devon is at the Southern end of the M5, which has many links to each of the major
motorways. This means it is very straight forward getting to Devon by car.
Once you are in Devon the motorway ends and divides into two; the A380 (for Torquay)
and the A38 (for Plymouth). Which you take will depend on your ultimate destination.
The M3 from London offers the chance to take a more leisurely drive to
the West Country once it joins the A303. The dual carriageway gives the
opportunity to pass by Stonehenge, and to continue on through small
villages and market towns to destinations throughout the South West.
The estimated direct journey time from London to Exeter is
approximately 3hrs and 30 minutes.

a popular alternative to the the strain of motorway travelling.
So, why not take the train. First Great Western, Virgin
Trains, Wessex Trains, and South West Trains are all particularly good
services, many of these running through the frequently placed South
Devon Coast holiday Towns.
However, it is advisable check
to ensure if this will not prove problematic, if your holiday location is
too remote.
Combining Train and local Bus services may be the ideal solution.
